what we collect

groupie collects only the information necessary to split bills with friends:

• receipt images you upload (stored temporarily)
• item names and prices from receipts
• names participants enter to join a split
• item selections for splitting

no accounts

groupie does not require user accounts. we don't collect emails, passwords, or personal information beyond what's needed to split a bill.

data storage

all receipt data is temporary. receipts and associated data are automatically deleted after 7 days. we use secure, encrypted storage for all data while it exists.

ai processing

uploaded receipt images are processed using ai to extract item names and prices. images are not retained after processing is complete.

cookies

we use minimal local storage to remember your session within a split. no tracking cookies or third-party analytics are used.
